Malishka Mendonsa is one of the most popular radio personalities in Mumbai. She has won several awards and has featured on IMPACT’s 50 Most Influential Women List on multiple occasions. Few years back, Godrej Interio transformed her dining room and it was a complete jaw-dropping moment for her when she finally saw final outcome. Let’s take a look.

Malishka wanted a cosy and warm dining space to enjoy intimate family time. She often had get-togethers with friends for which she needed some good storage space. The dark-coloured couch in her dining room is her all-time favourite because of its warmth, depth and shade, but this time, she wanted something light and classy. She wanted the feel of the room to change. Beside the sofa, there was a dining table and the area was not spacious. So, she wanted to create a space that could be used both for dining and storage. Since the back of the television was visible, she also wanted it to look classy, chic, elegant and royal.

The most challenging part for the interior designers was that Malishka was already very proud of her house. It’s already vibrant, breezy, colourful. So, they decided to work with the existing aesthetic. When Malishka came to the designers to create the mood board, they started with the sofa. They suggested replacing the dark green couch with two three-seater white leather sofas that would be easy to clean. Boomerang chairs would add a more leisurely feel. The designers added a six-seater dining table with chairs featuring eye-catching backrests. The for the wall behind the television, the designers are planning for ‘mushroom’ colour. Then she was shown all the furniture in the Godrej Interio store where she can choose anything of her choice.

On the D-Day, Godrej Interio team reached her home and started their magic on the dining space to change the look and the feel of it. And then the designer welcomed RJ Malishka to her newly decorated dining room and her expression was just priceless for the team. She was completely amazed by the interior of the dining space, the wall against TV, dining table and what not. It makes her feel her to be totally in a new home.
