Call it automated, robotic or smart locker. The truth is that it’s a trend that cannot be overlooked.  Recently, Godrej Elements in Pune became the first residential project to install the automated locker Autovault from Godrej Security Solutions for its residences. It’s one of the most advanced and secure multi-locker vault systems based on a robotic platform. It provides 24*7  access to its customer with complete privacy and full convenience. It also offers four-layer security with access using a keycard, pin and key.

Bhawana Bhatnagar, the young and ebullient entrepreneur is a well-acclaimed interior stylist and founder of Capital’s one of the most admirable interior design brands – Casa Exotique. She opines it might soon become a norm in the residential space. “I think it’s a very interesting trend and is showing potential for becoming a norm shortly. It focuses on offering safety and convenience to customers and makes it easier for them to store their valuables in a safe place without having to worry about them getting stolen or lost. The robot-assisted locker system also brings convenience to the table, which will certainly encourage more people to try it.”

While Pune has pipped other cities in taking this step towards innovative solution, Bhawana feels that Autovault has to potential to become popular in other parts of the country too. “Based on the characteristics of the Autovault, I would say it certainly has the potentiality to become popular. More importantly, given how it increases security and convenience, more cities should try and implement this system.

Bhawana has studied international business at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade but apart from that, she has a great passion for interior designing and decoration. She, however, insists that security must be an essential part of every design. “Security is paramount while designing a residential space – big or small. No matter how awe-inspiring and breath-taking a house looks, if it isn’t secured, the residents wouldn’t be able to live in peace – which is the whole point of buying a house. Therefore, security is the first thing that designers have to think about while designing houses”
